Janine Underwood is the Executive Director for the Bradley Free Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia. She graduated from George Mason University with a B.S. Degree in Biology. She is immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of Roanoke. She has been working with non-profits for 30 years and has been at the Clinic for five years, taking over for the founding director of 40 years. The Bradley Free Clinic provides free high quality medical, dental, mental health, and pharmacy services for the low-income, uninsured in the Roanoke Valley. Janine is a founding member of the Roanoke Valley HOPE Initiative (RVHI) that is housed at the Clinic and is a collaborative effort between law enforcement, the hospital systems; and local prevention, treatment, and recovery agencies to help those with Substance Use Disorders find resources and services for treatment and recovery. The RVHI was established in August of 2016 and has Angels and Advocates that have offered assistance to over 300 participants. In addition, Janine is a founding member of the Roanoke Valley Collective Response, a collaboration of influencers and community leaders dedicated to finding sustainable solutions to the addiction crisis in the Roanoke Valley and neighboring communities. Since its inception in September 2018, the Collective Response has expanded rapidly to include over 180 stakeholders representing law enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, healthcare, local and state government, education, community support organizations, faith community, business community, and individuals and families personally touched by addiction.
